To Uncle Mike,
I love you Uncle
Even though you can’t say it
I know you love me too.
My mind can’t comprehend
Why God would choose you now
We know He is a good God and will take care of you now
I am thankful for the good times
But life must go on
Uncle Mike you will always be my friend
I will see you in heaven when my time is to come.
Love always,
Parker
I love you Uncle

I know you love me too.
My mind can’t comprehend
Why God would choose you now
We know He is a good God and will take care of you now
I am thankful for the good times
But life must go on
Uncle Mike you will always be my friend
I will see you in heaven when my time is to come.
Love always,
Parker
I’m Free
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I’m following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with time of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now, He set me free.
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I’m following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way

Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now, He set me free.

Michael Dwain Belcher was born on October 12, 1962. Apparently my sister Janet didn't know what to get me for my birthday so she and Jim gave me Mikey ! It was a special bond that he and I shared. I always reminded him that he was my birthday present.
Growing up with my nieces and nephew living right across the street from me was nothing short of, well, chaos ! We were all very close in age and we did have a lot of fun times and memories from our childhood, but man, there was A LOT of fighting ! Poor Mikey, Debbie, Donna and I had him outnumbered. He was pretty quiet and actually so was his sister Donna when we were kids. That's because big sister Debbie talked so much the other kids couldn't get a word in edgewise. (I had previous approval from Deb to say that.)
Mike may have been a little guy but he learned from early on to carry a BIG stick ~~ or fishing pole or pop bottle ... The girls know what I mean. Mike's last name may have been Belcher but those Robert's genes were pretty dominant ! I think the most commonly used word when we were around Mike was - DUCK !
One of the most memorable ( and funny ) memories is when Debbie and Mike pooled their money and walked to Upton's to buy a candy bar. When they got home the fight began over how to divide it. So ... Donna ate it ! I'm sure there was blood shed then.
Mike and I loved to go fishing and exploring at the creek by where we lived. I don't think we ever caught anything but we enjoyed the tranquil times just being outside with our imaginations. We thought we had discovered in Indian burial ground with Indian artifacts. In reality, the things we found were just rocks ! The four of us ran all over our neighborhood. We did not have computers or video games or cell phones ~~ we just went outside and played !
Mike was a very hard worker; an ace machinist, learning the trade from his Dad. He also loved to work with wood, building beautiful furniture and houses. He battled serious health issues, mainly Diabetes, for most of his adult life. But Mike loved to stay busy, always working on a project. He never put his own health and welfare first. After a serious health scare two years ago, his family held vigil next to Mike, sometimes in shifts. This one particular day it was just Mike and me in his hospital room. I held his hand and told him that I loved him. I told him that I wanted him to take better care of himself. He said he would try and told me he loved me as tears rolled down his cheek. But God decided to call him home now. I hope that he has found peace, no more sickness and is whole. And if there is fishing in Heaven, he has found the perfect fishing hole.
Mikey, we will miss your quiet presence, your creativity and your smile. Until we meet again ~~ We love you.

Mom (Grandma Roberts') favorite story of Mike was when he was little/school age. They were learning about Spring in class. He came home (to Grandma's) and was just skipping and hopping around gathering wild flowers. "Signs of 'Pring, Grandma, signs of 'Pring". A robin landed nearby and he looked at Grandma Roberts and said, "See Grandma, another sign of 'Pring!!!". Every Spring Grandma Roberts thinks of "signs of 'Pring Grandma, signs of 'Pring. Mike is missed everyday by his family.
Rest In Peace Mike.

I just want you guys to know how I felt about Mike.
I couldn’t get it out on that day.
“B.J.” said that “Mike” was a small guy, it’s true,
But I never saw anyone walk any taller than “Mike”.
God Bless,
Steve Hanna

Mike's Farewell
If I should ever leave you whom I love,
To go along the Silent Way, grieve not for me,
Nor speak of me with tears and sadness,
But laugh and talk of me, as if I were beside you,
And when you hear a song or see a bird I loved,
Please do not let the thought of me bring sadness,
For I am loving you just as I always have,
Loving all of you in my own unique way,
There are so many things I still wanted to do,
So many things I wanted to say to each of you,
As I chose my own path, these were not easy for me to do,
Remember that I did not fear ...
It was just leaving you that was so hard to face,
We can not see Beyond ... But, this I know for sure,
I loved you in my own way,
You were so good to me.
I ask you all to keep loving me, remember me with laughter,
And when you feel the Spring sunshine warming your neck ,
It is just me giving you a smile and letting you know I am fine.
Thank you for being so good to me.
If I should ever leave you whom I love,
To go along the Silent Way, grieve not for me,
Nor speak of me with tears and sadness,
But laugh and talk of me, as if I were beside you,

When tomorrow starts with me
And I'm not here to see...
If the sun should rise and find your eyes filled with tears for When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today ...
While thinking of the many things we did not get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you ...
And each time you think of me, I'll know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand ...
That Jesus came and called my name
And took me by the hand, and said my place was ready
In Heaven far above ...
And I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right there in your heart.

Until that day when we shall see again, you will be
missed by all that loved you.
Until that day when we shall see again, you will be
missed by all that loved you.
missed by all that loved you.

missed by all that loved you.
